What is Integrate Google Drive?

It’s a freemium Plugin for the WordPress directory. Integrate Google Drive — this is the best and easy-to-use Google Drive cloud solution plugin for WordPress to integrate your Google Drive documents and media directly into your WordPress Website. Share your Google Drive cloud files on your site very fast and easily. You can browse, manage, embed, display, upload, download, search, play, and share your Google Drive files directly into your website without any hassle and coding.

My Role

I started this project as a Product Design Lead. I lead Full design, Take design decisions and I have been handoff developer-friendly prototypes & design documentation as well. In most cases, I focus on a good interface with a better user experience.

Target audience

My target audience for this project is wordpress.org users. Who likes to use an Integrate Google Drive Cloud Solution for Websites without coding.

User Stories

From the above analysis of users’ stories, the following information came out. I’ve tried to gather and analyze the many user stories related to Google Drive and other cloud solutions business and services feedback.

Product Goal

WordPress website Owners can integrate their Google Drive into the website without knowing any coding skills. And he can use all our features For example, uploading digital product files for selling, File management, embedding Documents, displaying, downloading, searching, media playing, and sharing. WordPress website Owners can select user roles on the website for specific users. The user can select what file to view and download. if the owner saves the module as a shortcode After they can use the shortcode on any post without any hassle.

Key Design Challenge for the initial phase

• Set the right balance between the user’s expectations and the WordPress website owner’s vision.
•  No direct competitors in the initial phase.
• Similar products had fewer features and older users.
• Creating a better brand identity that resonates with the user and sets the product apart from similar products.
• Identifying key features based on the desired needs of the majority of users

• Identifying the target market and understanding their needs and pain points more deeply.
• Developing a pricing strategy that is competitive and attractive to potential users while also generating sufficient revenue for the business.
• Creating effective marketing materials and campaigns to reach potential users and communicate the benefit of the plugin.
• Building partnerships and collaborations with relevant businesses or organizations to expand the reach of the plugin.
• Continuously improving and updating the plugin to meet users’ evolving needs and expectations in the WordPress Industry.

Challenges to success

Some of the features that we have given for free are features that no other plugin has. If a website owner wants to use our plugin from the WordPress directory, he can use several features for free and to use some features, he has to buy an annual or lifetime deal.

Sketches and wireframes

Initially, I start by sketching to gain insights into how I can create the optimal design layout that caters to the needs of each user. This often involves creating wireframes, which serve as a blueprint for the layout, allowing me to experiment and refine the design before beginning actual implementation.

Good UI design can have a significant impact on the success of a SaaS product, as it affects how users perceive the quality and value of the product.

A design system streamlines the management of design by establishing standards that minimize repetition and establish a unified visual language across various pages and channels.

Here are steps you can create various types of modules (File browser, Photo Gallery, etc.) with different configurations with the shortcode builder and can use them anywhere using the shortcode.

Settings Inside

Settings Configuration and Control:

01 Accounts: 

The Accounts section allows you to manage and control the Google accounts associated with the Plugin. You can add new accounts and delete accounts as needed.

02 Advanced: 

The Advanced section provides advanced options using your own Google App is an optional option. For an easy setup, you can just use the default App of the plugin itself. The advantage of using your own app is limited.

03 Appearance: 

The Appearance section lets you customize the look and feel of the file browsing. You can change the colors, Preloader, Content Background color, and custom CSS as well.

04 Synchronization: 

You can set up Enable/ disable the local cache file auto synchronization with the cloud files. Also, you can select the automatic cloud files synchronization interval.

05 Notifications:

You can choose to receive notifications for downloads, uploads, and deletes activity taking place and get notified in your email address.

06 Private Folders:

Using Private Folders you can easily and securely share your Google Drive documents with your users/clients. This allows your users/ clients to view, download and manage their documents in their own private folders.

07 Statistics: 

If you enable Statistics then you can view all the file downloads, uploads, streams, and preview events logs on the statistics page.

08 Integrations:

Integrating with other plugins allows you to expand the capabilities of your application and take advantage of the features and functionality offered by other plugins with this plugin.

09 Tools: 

You can import/export as a JSON file, clear the cache, and rest all settings as well.

By configuring these settings, you can ensure that the plugin is functioning optimally and meeting your needs.

Empty placeholder

There are a few empty pages that can show you if you don’t have any folders or files on your drive. It may indicate that you currently don’t have any folders or files stored in that location.

Files Browser

Display your cloud files via a File Browser. The file browser can have a grid thumbnail and list view and can have a file uploader. Also, anyone can Browse files by sorting by filter.

Future Scope for an upgrade of this plugin
